As the name indicates “encryption technologies” which always acts as security agent between user and system seems much in demand now days. Just going through the definition of Encryption we know, it is the process of converting or computing computer characters into digital form or Transforming input data such as analog signals, characters, and commands into a digital form recognizable by a computer .
Where as in terms of cryptography ,encryption means (hiding Information) just making it unreadable to anyone except those posing special knowledge.Sometimes or the other side it also refers to as decryption (usually the reverse process of encryption) i.e to perform encrypted information into decrypted form which means into readable form.
In Terms of technological definition “Encryption is a process that involves a mathematical transformation of information into scrambled gobbledygook, called “cipher text.”
The computational process (an algorithm or set of precise rule) uses a key–actually just a big number associated with a password or pass phrase–to compute or convert plain text into cipher text with numbers or strings of characters.
The resulting encrypted text is decipherable only by the author of the corresponding key. This deciphering process is also called decryption.
Believe it,if above Encryption technology applied correctly,it can act as bullet proof against security threats in all communications channels even if the network is globalised and not secure.
Encryption technologies is certainly fruitful in the world of internet , where billion of people are accessing internet ,where data and information is shared on every particular hit of key stroke. In this whole process of login and log out , information secuirty of securing confidential data is very important task, and especially when it comes to passwords in order to protect it from unintended disclosure and modification.
A superb example of encryption can be termed as digital signature and Mac i.e message authentication code. Basically used by security vendors or sometimes used by Defense or even by financial organization like banks. As instantly and with space of time, securing information or data is the great matter when it comes to any organization.
Types of Encryption :
There are two kinds of encryption defined :
Encryption sometimes refferd to as “key” which means series of ans were .Key plays magic role in the whole process of encryption technology. These keys sometimes refereed to as Se cert key,asymmetrical key symmetrical key,corresponding key,private key public key depending upon their types .
These keys directly or indirectly just play the action of encryption and decryption . A better stuff could be password, while accessing or surfing through any confidential information in any network system of corporate environment or even in single desktops.
In private-key or asymmetrical encryption, the sender and receiver of information share a secret–a key that is used for both encryption and decryption. making the readable format into non readable and again vice versa at both ends)
In public-key encryption, two different mathematically related keys (a key pair) are used to encrypt and decrypt data. Information encrypted with one key may only be decrypted by using the other half of the key pair correspondingly.
As per latest encryption software is concern, Security experts and security vendors are taking care that it should be very user friendly and while installing just a click away from the user.
But advance computer savvy should know the rules of the games i.e while using encryption technology ensure that while implementing this technology it should be throughly studied with every pros and cons from either and as well opposite side which means while using encryption at either end should also cover the meaning at the opposite end.
